The Dates Are Set

Yesterday I went down to RVH to see my oncologist. I came away with a new treatment plan and the dates for the first appointments.

Monday, September 21, is the oncologist appointment. Before that, I have bloodwork at 7:45 a.m. in Barrie. Then, on September 23 at 9:15 a.m., I go in for my first immunotherapy appointment.

I am cautiously optimistic. It feels good to have something concrete happening after so much waiting. I also did the math: a year of treatment works out to about $460,000. I am very thankful to be Canadian.

I am not looking forward to being sick again. I have not really recovered much from my first rounds of treatment, so day to day, I am not expecting things to change all that much.

Immunotherapy is new territory for me, and I honestly do not know what to expect yet. I am trying to take it one appointment at a time and see how it goes.
